Vernee has just announced yet another smartphone, the Vernee Apollo X. Some of you might recall that we’ve reviewed the Vernee Apollo Lite last year, and the Vernee Apollo X is a considerably more powerful device compared to it. This smartphone is made out of metal, and it comes with a rear-facing fingerprint scanner. Its back side looks similar to the OnePlus 3(T)’s back side, to be quite honest, while its front side is relatively clean, does not have buttons on it or anything of the sort.
The Vernee Apollo X is actually quite a compelling smartphone in terms of specs. It comes with a 5.5-inch fullHD (1920 x 1080) IGZO display, which is made by Sharp, while the phone also packs in 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via a microSD card). The phone is fueled by the Helio X20 64-bit deca-core processor, and a 3,500mAh battery is also included in this package, and it is not removable. Speaking of which, MediaTek’s Pump Express quick charging tech is also a part of this package, you’re getting 9V/2A (18W) fast charging here, which will charge up this phone in no time. The phone’s fingerprint scanner unlocks the device in 0.1 seconds, says Vernee, and this handset is equipped with two SIM card slots, one of which you can use in order to expand the Vernee Apollo X’s internal storage.
On the back of the Vernee Apollo X, you’ll be able to find a 13-megapixel camera (Sony’s IMX258 sensor), and on the front of the device lies a 5-megapixel snapper (Samsung’s ISOCELL sensor, S5K5E2). Android 6.0 Marshmallow comes pre-installed on the phone, and on top of it, you’ll be able to find Vernee’s VOS UI. A Type-C port is placed on the bottom of this smartphone, and the device offers 4G LTE connectivity option, of course. Now, this smartphone is actually already available for purchase from GearBest, in case you’re interested, you can purchase the Vernee Apollo X for $232 at the moment, and it is available in Black and Silver color variants. The new Vernee Apollo X comes with a 3500mAh 4.35V (Non-removable battery). The power of the battery is enough to last about two days.
Beyond the attractive or not that is a Smartphone, at the end of the day its technical data are what reveal its true capacity. At these points, the Vernee Apollo X gets an excellent rating by adding a screen made by Sharp, one of the most reliable companies in the market, with a size of 5.5 inches, a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a density of 401 pixels per inch. As if this were not enough, it has Gorilla Glass 3 protection and 2.5D termination.
Another positive point of the Vernee Apollo X focuses on the camera’s main camera, as it also makes use of Sony’s history to include a 13-megapixel IMX258 sensor with f / 2.0 aperture, PDAF support and dual LED flash. Ahead is yes with a more classic sensor of 5 mega-pixels, but in the end behaves in a good way for “selfies” and video calls.
Inside, we find the best processor that had in its catalog MediaTek during 2016, that is the Helio X20 with a conformation of ten cores to 2.3GHz and a GPU Mali T880 to 780 MHz, which in addition to offering a very good power, Also allows you to reduce energy consumption by 30% compared to the previous generation.
Finally, this phone is also accompanied by up to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage that can be expanded through a micro SD card up to 128 GB. In short, technical data more than attractive, and that undoubtedly mean a slight evolution with respect to the company and its previous work.
Although something to note about this Vernee Apollo X, is that we have a new layer of customization designed by the firm itself, Vernee OS (VOS). Based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, it has certain functionalities that improve the layer of Google and that therefore facilitate and enrich the user experience.
